西山公園に歩くの朝

今日、桜を見に西山公園へ歩いて行きました。アパートから西山公園まで歩いて1時間かかったが、戻る時間は30分でした。なぜなら、行く時、鉄道をどこにも渡らなかった。

西山公園は桜がいっぱいある。

小さい動物園もあります。猿とかレッサーパンダも見ました。

昼ご飯は唐揚げとオレンジジュースを食べました。たこ焼きもあったけど、たこ焼きあまり好きではありません。

そして、今日、先生になりました。始めたクラスを教えました。緊張しちゃったけど大丈夫だと思う。もっと元気になるといいね。でもしょうがない, 疲れた！結局西山公園に行って三時間歩きました。

English:

Today, I walked to Nishiyama Park to see the cherry blossoms. Walking there from my apartment took an hour, but the return time was 30 min. Why? 'Cause on the way there, I couldn't cross the railroad tracks ANYWHERE. Ahhhh.

Nishiyama Park has lots of sakura trees.

It also has a small zoo. I saw monkeys and red panda.

For lunch I ate fried chicken and orange juice. There was also takoyaki (octopus fried in batter), but I don't really like takoyaki. 

Also today, I became a teacher. I taught my first classes. I was nervous but I think it was ok. It would be better if I was more bright and energetic, but I was tired. After all, I was 3 hours walking to/in Nishiyama Park.

日本へ

こんにちは。

皆さん聞いてね、私はね、日本にいますよ！1年間に、英語を教えに日本に来ました。場所は鯖江市。本州の福井県にあります。アパートの外、川の横に桜があります。今、祭りの準備もあります。鯉のぼりとか。

日本には、学期は4月に始まります。なので、今はちょっと休みです：）

まぁ、知らなければならないこともたくさんあります。ヒーターはどのように使うか、ゴミはどこに持って行けばいいのか、英語をどうやって教えるかな、この問題があるね。少しずつ答えを調べなくっちゃ。

それとも、この前は、毎日は日本語をあまり話しませんでしたけど、今年日本にいるから、毎日使います。頑張ります！


Translation:

Hello. Guess what? I'm in Japan! I've come to Japan to teach English for a year. The place is Sabae-shi, which is in Fukui-ken on Honshu (the main island). Outside my window, there are sakura trees by the river. Right now there are also some festival preparations, like koi-nobori.

In Japan, the semester (well, school year) starts in April, so right now is kind of like vacation :)
Well, there are a lot of things I have to know. How to use my heater, where to take garbage, how to teach English, things like that. Little by little I'm figuring things out.

Also, before now, I didn't really speak Japanese every day, but now that I'm in Japan, I use it every day.

Nihonashi #10 - Gaishoku (Skit)

Watashi: Konnichiwa! Kyou mo skitto wo shimasu ga, chotto aratamemashita. Teinei datta node, hanbun wo motto kantan mm, casual na kotoba ni kawarimashita. Original no mo yonde kudasai. 

Hokano koe: Jaa, hayaku skitto o setsumei shite.

Watashi: A-san to B-san wa machi de aruiteimasu. Ano, mise ga takusan aru tokoro desu ne, tatoeba, Osaka no Nanba toka... maa, ii wa. Hirugohan o tabetai kara, basho o kimenakute wa ikemasen. 

Hokano koe: Donna hito, A to B to iu mono?

Watashi: Tabun koukousei deshou?

Hokano koe: Iya, sonna koto. Daigakusei, daigakusei. 

Watashi: Sore dewa, daigakusei no joshi-tachi desu. B-san wa motto formal na kotoba o shiteimasu.

Nihonashi #10 - Eating Out (Skit)

Me: Hello everyone! Today is another skit, but it’s been revised a little. It was formal, so I changed half of it to be simpler, or more casual anyway. Please read the original too.

The other voice: Ok, hurry up and explain the skit.

Me: A and B are walking in town. Well, it’s a place with a lot of shops, like Nanba in Osaka or.. well, that’s ok. They want to eat lunch, so they need to decide a place.

The other voice: What kind of people are these A and B people?

Me: Probably high-schoolers, right?

The other voice: No way, come on, college students. 

Me: Well then, they are college student girls. B talks a bit more formal. 

The other voice: Ok. Start!

Eating

A: Where to? Western or Japanese food?

B: Oh, well, I prefer Japanese food. How about Okonomiyaki? 

A: Sounds good. This shop is yummy. If we sit over there, the air conditioning will be right above us. Yeah?

B: Yes. It is very hot today.

C: Welcome. Here’s the menu.

A: Thanks. B-b, what should we get?

B: This tomato set looks good but...

A: I think so too. And tea?

B: Cold juice would be preferable. 

C: Have you decided on your order, ladies?

A: Yes. Two apple juices, and two of the tomato sets please.

C: I’ve got it. Will that be everything?

B: Oh, one iced coffee please.

(They ate.)

B: Shall we leave soon?　(Shall we get going?)

A: Sure. I’ll pay. 

B: Certainly not, I will pay.

A: Ok, let’s split the bill, yeah?

B: Yes, let’s do that. It was delicious, wasn’t it? I’m really full. 

A: What about dessert?

B: No way, I’ll get fat you know!

A: Haha, 

B: Oh, don’t laugh!

A: Ok, let’s go.

Me: It’s over. How was that?

The other voice: Boooring.

Me: That’s so mean.

The other voice: Just the truth.
